Modal sosial mencakup jaringan, norma, dan kepercayaan antar anggota masyarakat memainkan peran penting dalam pengembangan agribisnis berkelanjutan. Kekayaan lokal dapat dioptimalkan untuk meningkatkan produktivitas pertanian dan kesejahteraan petani. Bibit lokal memiliki adaptasi ekologis terhadap kondisi tanah dan iklim setempat. Demikian pula pendekatan partisipatif memperkuat keberlanjutan dan kemandirian komunitas. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilatarbelakangi potensi besar yang dimiliki Kelompok Tani Wajeng Pajeng di Kabupaten Barru, Sulawesi Selatan dalam pengembangan bibit unggul lokal. Akan tetapi masih terbatas dalam hal pengelolaan agribisnis dan pemanfaatan modal sosial yang dimiliki. Kegiatan dilakukan untuk meningkatkan pendapatan petani dengan penggunaan benih unggul berkualitas. Juga meningkatkan kemampuan teknis petani dalam melakukan seleksi benih dan memungkinkan menjadi petani penangkar. Metodologi menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif melalui pelatihan, diskusi kelompok terfokus (FGD), pendampingan teknis, dan demonstrasi lapangan. Setelah pelaksanaan kegiatan, dilakukan survey mengukur peningkatan perubahan masyarakat dalam partisipasi anggota kelompok tani, terbentuknya sistem agribisnis sederhana berbasis bibit unggul lokal, serta meningkatnya kesadaran akan pentingnya kerja sama dan jaringan sosial dalam mendukung keberlanjutan usaha tani. Kegiatan ini berhasil mencapai tujuannya dalam meningkatkan kapasitas dan kemandirian kelompok tani dalam mengelola agribisnis bibit unggul lokal dengan memanfaatkan modal sosial sebagai fondasi utama. Penerapan pendekatan partisipatif terbukti efektif dalam mendorong perubahan positif dan berkelanjutan di tingkat komunitas.
