INNOVATION OF UTILIZING PAPAYA INTO SHREDDED AS AN ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT OF THE COMMUNITY OF DAKUNG PRAYA CENTRAL VILLAGE

Most of the residents of Dakung Village, Praya Tengah District, Central Lombok Regency are farming. The potential of natural resources in Dakung village is quite diverse, one of which is papaya. The availability of papaya in Dakung village is quite abundant, but it is little used by the community. So it is necessary to do innovations related to the use of papaya, namely processing papaya into food that is more durable, attractive appearance, aroma and taste is better, wider marketing, namely by processing papaya into shreds. The purpose of processing papaya into shreds is to optimize the utilization of village potential, especially papaya, and to empower the economy of the community in Dakung village. Through socialization and training on making shredded papaya with original and spicy flavors at the village head's office, and at different places and times in each hamlet. The socialization involved PKK women, housewives, and young people from Dakung village. As a result of this activity, the youth and women of Dakung village can take advantage of the village's potential, can make processed papaya more innovative, durable and more attractive. Socialization activities and training on making papaya shreds can improve the skills of the Dakung village community. The conclusion is: the Dakung village community is starting to learn to utilize the potential of the village more innovatively, which has the opportunity to open up new job opportunities, with further guidance and support from the village apparatus.
